The sun is an ally when it comes to recreation. Whether it is a day of water skiing or snow skiing, strolling
through the spring bloom or hiking amidst the fall foliage, the sun's presence can brighten the spirit and warm
the body. The sun, however, can be detrimental when it comes to skin care. The sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays may
damage unprotected skin and increase the risk skin cancer.
Most sunscreens on the market offer protection from the sun's harsh rays by using potentially harmful ingredients
that may irritate and compromise the skin's health. Two such ingredients found in many sunscreens are PABA
(para-aminobenzoic acid) and benzophenones. PABA helps absorb the sun's damaging rays, but can also cause eczema,
rash, sloughing, swelling and heightened sensitivity to the sun. Benzophenones prevent other ingredients found
in sunscreen from deteriorating in the sun's UV rays, yet these toxic chemicals can also cause hives and other
allergic skin reactions. Neways does NOT use PABA or Benzophenones in their sun products.
