FAQs
- Which cellular health products would you suggest for my lifestyle?
-
Examine your lifestyle and health risks. Determine which cellular health step to start with - cell nourishment,
cell environment cleansing, cell immune support, or cell purification. All teenagers and adults need essential
minerals (Maximol Solutions®) and fulvates for basic cellular nourishment.
Over the age of 20, we need to combat degrading environmental contaminants with
Cascading Revenol® and D-Toxarate as part of cleansing our cell environment.
After we reach age 30, our cells need immune support supplied by Neways unique Authentic
Hawaiian Noni®. Finally, when we want optimal cellular support, we can go to Perillyl
Extract and Cassie-Tea. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways' Corporate
Scientist
- Why did Neways make a change to the D-Toxarate formula?
-
In addition to promoting daily detoxification and elimination of chemicals, the new D-Toxarate
incorporates the added benefit of cardiovascular health. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways' Corporate
Scientist
- My challenging cellular health requires the action of D-glucarate. What changes were made?
-
The function and concentration of d-glucarate in the new D-Toxarate formula remain the same.
D-glucarate's cellular health and detoxification benefits remain the same. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways'
Corporate Scientist
- What changes were made to advance the D-Toxarate formula?
-
Instead of the calcium ion attached to d-glucarate, the new D-Toxarate formula contains
potassium and hydrogen. The potassium hydrogen d-glucarate formula promotes already healthy cholesterol levels.
- Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways' Corporate Scientist
- A friend told me to take Revenol with D-Toxarate. How does this
benefit my cellular health?
-
D-Toxarate promotes cellular health by supporting the detoxification and elimination of
accumulated chemicals form our bodies. Revenol fights the harmful biochemical activity of
free radicals from the environment - mainly the oxygen radical from the air that keep us alive. Together,
Revenol and D-Toxarate build our cellular health, which leads us
to health and longevity. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways' Corporate Scientist
- A lady called concerning her finger nails which had been filed too thin by a nail salon when they applied tips.
She said the tips chipped off and then she removed the rest of the salon's nail products only to find that her
nails had been filed so thin that it hurt to put her hands in water and she was afraid of infection so she was
using alcohol to keep them clean. "What can I do?", was her question.
-
If disease or infection has set in, your health advisor should be consulted. Do not manicure/pedicure these
nails. Fortunately, the nails will continue to grow; unfortunately they grow slowly - 1/8 inch per month or from
the matrix to the free edge in about 5-6 months for fingernails and 1/16 inch per month or 10-12 months for toenails,
which grow slower but they grow thicker. Providing the vitamins and minerals for optimum health is essential for
beautiful nails. (Vitamin and mineral deficiencies show up in the appearance and health of the fingernails.)
To strengthen the nails, consider taking CalQlat® which is excellent in providing calcium
to the nails. Also, consider taking Maximol Solutions® and Omega3 EPA
and Anatomix®. Massage Lush Lashes & Nails between the cuticle
and the first knuckle - where the new nail grow takes place. And instead of using alcohol with it's potentially
harmful effects, consider massaging into the nail area 3 drops of each Lavender Essential Oil,
Tea Tree Essential Oil and Peppermint Essential Oil combined in one
tablespoon of Neways' Mixing Oil. And protect the fingernails during the day (e.g., wear
gloves while doing housework).
- Does CalQlat® contain dairy by-products? If so, isn't the fat unhealthy?
-
CalQlat® contains butter which has saturated fat. However, approximately 8 percent of the
body's daily calories need to come from saturated fat. Some sources of saturated fat, such as butter, can be
converted into healthy cholesterol.
- Isn't chocolate considered to be unhealthy?
-
Chocolate from cocoa is a natural ingredient with positive health benefits and a greater than 90 percent taste
acceptance by consumers. In addition, the flavonoids in dark chocolate (which Neways uses) are
a great source of antioxidants that assist the body's normal heart-health functions.
- Is taking too much CalQlat® toxic, especially since it contains Vitamin D?
-
Incidence of Vitamin D toxicity is very rare. There is no danger, however of Vitamin D toxicity associated
with CalQlat®.
- If your body is extremely deficient in calcium, can you take more than two chews per day and will it still be
absorbed?
-
The dosage of CalQlat® has been carefully calculated for the average dietary need. Those
individuals who wish to supplement with more calcium can take three squares (about 1500 mg calcium) each day.
Individuals who may wish to supplement their diet with more calcium would be:
- lactating women
- post-menopausal women
- men over age 65 with a low dietary intake of calcium
- women who exercise intensely (especially if their diet is inadequate),
- smokers
- teenagers - especially girls, whose bodies build the majority of their bone mass during their
teens.
Adequate calcium intake is important, but daily intakes above about 2000 mg are not likely to provide any
additional benefit and are, therefore, not recommended. In addition, you body absorbs only 500 mg of calcium per
dose. It is best to take only one chew at a time, two to three times a day. CalQlat® provides
calcium and other minerals in a concentrated chew and in the most easily absorbed form. It's a two-pronged approach
that addresses both aspects of supplementation.
- Does CalQlat® contain sugar?
-
CalQlat® is sweetened with maltitol, not sugar. Maltitol is a reduced calorie, bulk
sweetener with sugar-like taste and sweetness. Maltitol is made by the hydrogenation of maltose, which is obtained
from starch. This sweetener has a clean, sweet taste similar to sucrose in intensity. Maltitol contains only 2.1
calories per gram. This is useful in formulating a variety of low-calorie and low-fat foods and is especially
useful in the manufacture of sucrose-free chocolate. Maltitol does not contribute to tooth decay. Also, Maltitol
supports already healthy blood sugar levels because it is absorbed slowly so that there is no carbohydrate peak.
- Judy's mom is concerned about her taking too much calcium and Vitamin D. She is 50+ years young, and still working
outside the home. How much calcium and Vitamin D is too much?
-
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body. Remember, God created man from the dust - we're basically
minerals. Combine that with the US Department of Agriculture's listing almost all soils as minerally depleted and
deficient in the USA, and there is good reason to supplement the diet with minerals.
Calcium is important for healthy bones, teeth, heart, nerves, muscles, blood, thyroid hormone function, metabolism
of Vitamin D, sleep, regulating heart beat, blood clotting, maintaining proper acid/alkali balance in the blood,
utilization of iron, enzyme activation required for metabolism, regulating passage of nutrients in and out of the
cell walls... and on and on. It's easy to see why a deficiency of calcium would be a major problem manifesting in
many different ways... and, for the most part, the symptoms get treated but the root cause of the symptoms gets
ignored.
So, I personally give Judy an "atta boy! Take your mineral supplements!"
As for getting too much: Absorption and utilization of calcium requires other nutrients, as well - magnesium,
phosphorus, Vitamin D, A, C, E, acid, fat...etc. - and exercise! Having the other nutrients out of balance with the
calcium causes a lack of absorption (which is "inefficient" by our standards of efficiency - only about 20-30%
absorption depending on the source of calcium)...as does being a couch potato. ALSO, with age comes another decrease
in the absorption of calcium, which I believe is why we see older people actually shrinking in size/stature.
Calcium deficiency manifests as nerve affliction, muscle cramps, joint pains, heart palpitation, slow pulse,
tooth decay, insomnia, impaired growth, slow blood clotting, hemorrhaging, numbness and tingling in the arms and
legs, bone malformation, rickets, osteomalacia, sensitivity to sunburn, sensitivity to bug bites, menopausal symptoms,
headaches, irritability, premenstrual tension, menstrual cramps, bone pain, backaches, brittle teeth, cavities,
trembling fingers, osteoporosis...to name a FEW.
Too much calcium can cause hypercalcemia, over calcification of the bones and tissues, interference with the
nerves and muscles, failure of the blood to clot, a decrease in the absorption of zinc (another important mineral).
Also, not all "calcium" is alike: Calcium carbonate is one of the most commonly used forms of calcium but is at
best only 5% bioavailable. If one needs 1000 mg a day of calcium, and the average-sized tablet contains 500mg of
calcium carbonate, a person would need to take 40 tablets per day! This could be expensive, would be impossible
to take and may be unhealthy. Too much calcium carbonate could result in constipation and may contain unhealthy
levels of lead in the tablets.
So what does one do? How do you know if you are getting too much or too little calcium?
Younger growing bodies (including pregnant/lactating women) need more calcium AS DO bodies that are getting
older.
My barometer has always been, do I feel better with the supplement? Not just psychologically, but do I physically
feel better? Am I seeing any of the symptoms of too little or too much? Then I add to or subtract from my daily
supplements accordingly. Everyday is NOT the same. Some days the stress level is high and therefore depleting the
supply and hindering the absorption of nutrients (like working at a high stress job). Those times I take more
nutrients. If I am going to be in an unhealthy environment (e.g. an airplane with recycled air), I take more
nutrients to give the body what it needs to combat the situation. I eat organic foods unless there is no other
choice...but even then, I don't put a whole lot of value on what is in the food since the food is only a reflection
of the soil in which it was grown. Food grown without herbicides, pesticides and other poisons (chemical fertilizers)
is a good place to start, but unless the soil has been rebuilt, the food is still lacking...albeit, healthier that
the "conventionally grown" products.
As you can see, there is no easy answer to your question.
Neways has two superior calcium supplements: CalQlat® and Osteo
Solutions®. But, if what Judy is using is working for her, stick with it.
I hope some of this helps answer her questions. Have Judy calculate the amount of calcium she's taking. Women -
particularly those who are pregnant, lactating or post-menopausal - require additional calcium up to 1500 mg daily.
Most men and toddlers need 500 mg, and children and pre-menopausal women need 1000 mg daily to maintain bone health...
even though the RDA's 1989 chart says 800mg for a woman in her 50's. But remember, the key is absorption! - S.P.
- Neways offers two different calcium supplements: Osteo Solutions® and
CalQlat®. What is the difference?
-
Osteo Solutions® is Neways' original calcium supplement product. However,
CalQlat® offers more of the recommended daily intake of calcium per dose and is Neways'
premiere mineral (calcium) supplement. Osteo Solutions® offers 53 percent of the recommended
daily intake of calcium per dose, while CalQlat® provides 98 percent of the recommended daily
intake. Additionally, Osteo Solutions® does not contain Prohydroxyapatite™, Neways' exclusive
bone mineral complex. Instead, Osteo Solutions® contains calcium lactate, a salt form of
calcium. Osteo Solutions® is a liquid supplement and CalQlat® is a
chewable square. Both are supplements for bone health.
- Neways offers two "zyme" products, D-Zyme® and ProtoZymes™. So, what
is the difference between them? When would a person take one vs. the other? Why aren't they all in one capsule?
-
Very briefly - D-Zyme®: Digestive enzymes.
ProtoZymes™: Superior probiotic with Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. casei, Bifidobacterium
bifidum, B. longum, B. infantis.
One would take D-Zyme® when digestive support with digestive enzymes are needed. Very
often these same people also need help with their intestinal flora - the beneficial bacteria in their intestines.
This is why a digestive enzyme supplement (D-Zyme®) is often recommended, as well as, a
probiotic supplement (ProtoZymes™). They cannot be combined in the same formula, as the
enzymes undergo different processing which would make the bacteria less viable.
- How often should I follow the Neways' Cleansing Tea program for my needs?
-
The Neways' Cleansing Tea program may be repeated every six months for optimal digestive and
intestinal health. Neways' Total Body Tune-Up is a flexible plan to meet your individualized health needs based on
your environment, your body type and the foods you eat. Those inexperienced or sensitive to cleansing should use the
one bag/day program, while the higher strength 2-3 bags/day program is appropriate for those with greater intestinal
concerns. The key to maintaining your energy and health during the cleansing period is to drink sufficient daily
quantities of water based on your body weight. Read the program description in each box of Neways'
Cleansing Tea. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways' Corporate Scientist
- What is the difference between Neways' Cleansing Tea and Puri-Tea?
-
Puri-Tea is the UK name for Neways' Cleansing Tea. Puri-Tea in the UK contains the same
major ingredients as Neways' Cleansing Tea but the formulas are slightly different. Formula
and ingredient differences are often based on the governmental restrictions/requirements of different countries.
- What is body contouring?
-
Body Contouring is a potentially effective way to lose unwanted inches. Fat on thighs and hips is difficult to remove.
Combined with proper diet and exercise, the Body Wrap along with use of
Super Skinny Dip and Super S Cream, could greatly smooth sagging skin, bulges and
irregularities in the skin of the thighs, hips and abdomen, while making them look and feel sleeker.
- How do the creams(Super Skinny Dip and Super S Cream) work?
-
The creams in the system are: Super Skinny Dip and Super S Cream.
The activator is Bio-Mist Activator.
Super Skinny Dip is a massage cream that helps smooth out the appearance of bulges and
irregularities in the skin. Waffled-looking skin appears smoother and sleeker.
Super S Cream enhances the effectiveness of the ingredients in
Super Skinny Dip. These two creams are applied via topical application. Skin stimulation is by vigorous massage.
Blood circulation is improved with the stimulation, helping to potentially enhance the program on accumulated fat and
toxins. Loose skin on legs and buttocks will feel smoother, feel more elastic and look sleeker.
Bio-Mist Activator is an effective spray moisturizer which helps
Super Skinny Dip and Super S Cream penetrate much deeper into the skin.
With the use of an additional product, Firm Up, followed by
Bio-Mist Activator the skin will appear much tighter, more toned and look firmer. Sagging skin under arms, on
the neck, throat and jowls will show an improved appearance of tone and snap.
- How long does the Body Contouring Session take?
-
Allow one to two hours for the session; however, the body is actually only wrapped for one hour. The remaining time
is taken up with weighing, measuring and dressing. LIGHT exercise is required during the time the body is wrapped.
- How often can I have Body Contouring Sessions?
-
Body Wrap sessions may be done up to two times a week. If the Body Wrap
program is combined with a weight loss diet it is recommended that the Body Wrap be done only
once a week so that weight will be lost between wraps.
- How many Body Contouring Sessions will I need?
-
Body Wrap once or twice a week until the desired goal is reached. The frequency depends on
several factors, such as the number of inches desired to be lost, exercise, dietary reduction, the skins elasticity,
the commitment to a weight-loss program, etc.
- How much weight will I lose?
-
The Body Contouring System is designed to take off inches and pounds. While some may lose inches in the process, the
weight loss may be very different. How many inches could be lost depends upon the body's makeup.
- Do lost inches return?
-
Experience has shown that substantial inch loss will not come back as long as present weight is maintained or lost
and the Neways' program continues.
- Is Body Contouring harmful?
-
No. Body Wrap have been shown to be safe from our experience. However, if you have a
serious medical problem, please consult your health care provider for your own peace of mind. For obvious reasons,
do not wrap women during pregnancy, after recent surgery with unhealed incisions, or with large skin abrasions or
rashes.
Although many people have heart trouble, diabetes, varicose veins, asthma, kidney or liver problems, we have not
found these conditions to respond negatively to the Body Contouring System.
Body Contouring could reduce the puffiness and discomfort associated with menstruation.
- Should I eat before Body Contouring?
-
We suggest that you not eat before a Body Wrap. However, a light meal or snack should not make
you uncomfortable.
- How much fluid should I drink?
-
The body has a continual need for fluids. Liquids will not put fatty inches back on. In conjunction with the use of
the creams, we recommend that eight, 8-ounce glasses of water are drunk during each of the three days prior to the
Body Wrap session. (Drink a gallon of water during the 24-hour period after the session.)
This will enable the body to break down and flush out impurities through the natural elimination process.
- What will Body Contouring do to my skin?
-
People tell us that their skin looks smoother and sleeker after the Body Wrap. We have many
users who do not want to lose pounds but desire skin appearance improvement because of previous weight loss. The
Neways' Body Contouring Program may also improve the appearance and color of stretch marks.
- What should I do before and after the Body Contour?
-
Best results are achieved if Super Skinny Dip and Super S Cream are
used for three days prior to the Body Wrap session. Avoid ingesting carbonated drinks
containing sodium, caffeine, nicotine and dairy products for three days before and three days after the
Body Wrap session as they interact negatively with the creams. Do not shower for a minimum
of six hours after the Body Wrap session as the creams continue to work. Additional inch
loss may be noticed the next day. If applications of Super Skinny Dip and
Super S Cream are continued after the Body Wrap session, even more inch loss could be
experienced.
- There are many different protein sources available today. Why do you use soy in ProThin?
-
Soy helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels that are already in the normal range. Further, 25 grams of soy
protein a day, as a part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.
A serving of ProThin supplies 7.1 grams of soy protein. Research has found that soy
protein insolate reduced energy intake and consequently reduced total goy fat gain. A later study showed soy protein
had a contribution to healthy weight loss. Soy protein is particularly high in glutamine and arginine, two amino
acids that are important in the health of the human body.
- Does an increase in fiber have a correlation to weight gain and reduction?
-
ProThin was formulated with a special blend of fiber to help combat weight gain and promote
general health. Increased dietary fiber ahs been shown to increase weight loss through three general pathways:
increased satiation, reduced hunger and consequently, reduced caloric intake. ProThin has
been formulated with 10g of fiber per serving, nearly three times more fiber than the average meal replacement shake.
- What is the carbohydrate-protein-fat ratio in ProThin?
-
Shake powder per 100 grams is as follows:
- Carbohydrates 62% of calories
- Protein 24% of calories
- Fat 13% of calories
- Is ProThin too high in carbohydrates to be effective?
-
Ninety percent of mainstream health-care professionals feel that a balanced diet should contain about 60-70%
carbohydrates, 20-30% protein and 5-10% fats. Therefore, a meal replacement shake should contain a similar balance
of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Many crash diets are not nutritionally balanced, nor do they contain the
daily-recommended allowance of essential vitamins. ProThin along with a sensible,
balanced diet, is recommended for safe and effective long-term weight loss.
- Does ProThin contain a lot of sugar?
-
ProThin contains significantly less sugar than leading brands, in fact, 25 percent less
sugar than some of the most popular shakes on the market. Simple sugars make up only 40 percent of the total
carbohydrates.
Fructose is a natural form of fruit sugar that is easier to metabolize than sucrose, which is table sugar. The
level of fructose was increased to reduce the fat content. Fats possess a lower satiating power than carbohydrates
and protein, and carbohydrates are more readily thermogenic than fat.
- How long before results from using ProThin can be seen?
-
To lose weight safely, one should plant to lose two to three pounds per week. Cutting just 500 calories a day
is a safe and effective way to lose weight. Individual results will vary. It is recommended to eat between 1500-1800
calories per day.
Each ProThin shake contains just 240 calories. Replacing two meals a day with
ProThin, enables one to eat a sensible dinner and one to two healthy snacks between meals.
Better yet, make breakfast your main meal so you can utilize the food energy you consume as the day goes on vs.
going to sleep shortly after a full meal.
- Should I take ProMass while using ProThin?
-
Absolutely. ProThin is used to cut calories, which will ultimately result in weight loss.
ProMass, containing conjugated linoleic acid has the added benefits of liquefying fatty
deposits and increasing metabolic rate, enabling the body to more easily consume stored fats as energy, while
maintaining body tone.
- The label states to maintain adequate daily fluid intake while using ProThin.
How much water should I drink?
-
An easy way to calculate how much water to drink is to divide your weight by two and drink that amount in ounces
daily. For example, if you weight 180 pounds divide that by 2 = 90. Drink 90 ounces (or 11.25 8oz glasses) of water
daily.
- Who was Dr. John R. Lee?
-
Dr. Lee was a graduate of Harvard and the University of Minnesota Medical School. He retired from a 30-year
family practice in Northern California. Since then, until his death in 2003, he was writing and traveling
around the world speaking to doctors, scientists and lay people about progesterone. Dr. Lee taught a very
popular course on "Optimal Health," at the College of Marin for 15 years. Dr. Lee was President of the
Progesterone Research Institute (PRI) and is internationally recognized as a pioneer and authority in the
study and use of progesterone, and the study of hormone replacement therapy for women. Dr. John R. Lee
is the author of What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer, What Your Doctor May
Not Tell You About PreMenopause and What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause.
- What is a hormone?
-
Hormones are substances secreted directly into the bloodstream and are produced by several
glands and organs in your body such as the ovaries, testes, thyroid, pancreas, pituitary, liver and others.
They travel through the bloodstream from where they are produced to where they interact with receptors to do
the work for which they were intended. They initiate reactions in the body, whereas enzymes usually help to
facilitate them. Hormones regulate fluid retention, mineral metabolism, sexual function and
libido, reproductive functions, growth and development, aging and numerous other functions.
- What is progesterone?
-
Natural Progesterone is an important hormone manufactured by the adrenal glands in men and women and in
the ovaries in women. Extra amounts are manufactured by the placenta during pregnancy. Progesterone is
responsible for numerous functions taking place that are necessary for optimum health.
Natural progesterone is a very good starting place. However there are other things you may have to do.
You will have to take a good look at your diet and life style. You may have to use Herbs and supplements
and get more exercise. In addition to that you may need to cleanse your colon in order to get rid of the
toxic build up. This is very important because if your colon is full of toxins, your liver will not perform
adequately. The liver is very important for all body processes. If you do not get rid of the toxins in your
body, your body cannot heal.
- How can I know what my progesterone level is?
-
A woman can usually tell by how she feels. However, blood or saliva testing is recommended. (Dr. John Lee
recommends only the saliva test, he says that it is the most accurate.)
- I suffer from decreased libido. can natural progesterone help me?
-
Decreased libido can come from many things. It can come from lack of progesterone. However it can also come
from many psychological factors. Decreased libido can also be caused by medications, stress and a number
of factors.
- What is estrogen?
-
Estrogen is a hormone produced in the body. Estrogen is to a woman what testosterone is to a man. However,
both women and men have some of each, but women have more. It is the basic female sex hormone and is
responsible for the development of female characteristics. It is balanced in healthy individuals by
progesterone.
- What are xeno-estrogens?
-
These are synthetic compounds that occur as a result of petrochemical industries and environmental
pollution. When ingested or exposed to our bodies, they act like estrogen and can cause the same negative
effects such as the unopposed synthetic estrogen that is prescribed by physicians.
- What are progestins?
-
Progestins are synthetic compounds that are intended to mimic the actions of natural progesterone. However,
they actually cause numerous side effects and should be avoided.
- What is hormonal imbalance?
-
Hormonal imbalance is a term that has become popular to describe an incorrect relationship that exists between
levels of progesterone and estrogen. It occurs in nearly every instance where synthetic hormones are prescribed
by physicians.
- Can you explain "hormone cycles"?
-
During the first half of a woman's monthly cycle her body is prepared for accepting a fertilized egg. As
estrogen levels increase during the first half of the cycle, water and nutrient storage takes place. At
this point, progesterone begins to become the dominant hormone for the second half of the cycle. If
fertilization occurs, progesterone levels increase to very high levels for several months. If fertilization
does not occur, levels of both estrogen and progesterone lessen, but progesterone remains dominant.
- What is HRT?
-
HRT is an abbreviation for Hormone Replacement Therapy. Several years ago it became popular for doctors
to prescribe the hormone estrogen for women with menopausal symptoms. They thought they were replacing
the hormones lost with the advent of menopause. Contemporary physicians now know that estrogen is not
the hormone needing to be replaced. They are becoming increasingly aware that it is progesterone that
is desperately in need of replacing. So, when synthetic estrogen is given, it actually aggravates the
symptoms all the more. Later, these synthetic estrogen products were formulated to include synthetic
progestins to offset some of the bad effects of estrogen dominance. This vicious cycle is just now
beginning to be understood with the advent of natural progesterone.
- What benefits can I expect from natural progesterone?
-
There is much evidence that men and women, especially women, suffer from reduced levels of progesterone.
Keeping progesterone levels to optimum levels can help fight depression and anxiety, increase sexual libido,
prevent bone loss (osteoporosis), fight aging skin, wrinkles and brown spots, help oxygenation of cells,
alleviate sleeplessness, control acne, reduce premenstrual discomforts, protect against breast fibroids,
reduce hair thinning, reduce hot flashes etc.
- Why natural progesterone only?
-
Synthetic progesterone (progestins) simply do not perform the same functions in the body. They can even lower
your levels of progesterone. Natural progesterone is also a precursor to many other hormones in your body, so
it is imperative that it be used in its natural form.
- What about my emotions?
-
Most women notice a leveling off of their emotions when they get their progesterone levels up to where they
should be, especially if they have been a victim of estrogen dominance. Some women actually report a feeling
of well-being or euphoria. Thus, it has been dubbed "the happy hormone."
- Should I use progesterone if I am on birth control pills?
-
Birth control pills usually contain synthetic progestins. It is not recommended to take them together. Birth
control pills have been known to cause many health problems when taken over a long period of time.
- Do post-menopausal or hysterectomized women still produce hormones?
-
The best way to describe a hysterectomy is "instant menopause." What is not really understood by most doctors
is that the body continues to produce about 40% of the estrogen it had been producing before menopause
or hysterectomy, even through the ovaries have been removed. However, progesterone levels decrease more
severely. The symptoms usually attributed to low estrogen are really due to a lack of progesterone. Women
who are in this category seem to notice the benefits of natural progesterone much quicker than those who
are still menstruating.
- Can I discontinue HRT?
-
Many women now taking estrogen or estrogen combined with progestins are able to discontinue their HRT. Please
consult with a medical professional before doing so. It is possible that if adequate natural progesterone
levels were present, any needed estrogen could be made from it. Because progesterone sensitizes estrogen
receptors, it makes sense to supplement with progesterone rather than estrogen. If you are taking hormone
replacements and begin applying progesterone and do not lower your estrogen dosage, you may experience
symptoms of estrogen-dominance, so with your doctor's permission, lower your estrogen dose. Continue
replacing your HRT with progesterone and after a while you will have discontinued your HRT.
- What about estrogen and cancer?
-
There is no question that estrogen can be linked to certain cancers. For instance, it has been shown to
contribute as much as a 30% increase in breast cancer. It has also been shown that as many as two thirds
of women taking estrogen develop uterine lining abnormalities. Also, evidence shows that estrogen can be
associated with cancer of the bladder, pancreas, cervix, endometrium and brain.
- Do men need to be concerned about progesterone deficiency? Can prostate cancer be prevented?
-
Yes. Progesterone deficiency is also a concern in men, because of xenoestrogens. Just as the testicles are
the male equivalent of the female ovaries, the prostate is the male equivalent of the female uterus; in both
cases they originate from the same embryonic cells. It should not be surprising then that we see the same
hormonal effects in both the prostate and the uterus. Dr. John Lee and Dr. Jesse Hanley, and increasing
numbers of other clinicians and researchers believe that it is excessive exposure to estrogen that is the
primary cause of prostate enlargement and prostate cancer. Dozens of anecdotal reports of both reduction
of enlarged prostates and reversal of prostate cancers through direct application of small amounts of
progesterone cream appear to be preliminary evidence that progesterone may also play an important role
in protecting the prostate gland in men. ("What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause"
by Dr. John R. Lee, Page 237)
- What about osteoporisis?
-
It is known that as much as 75% or more of women living in the United States eventually develop osteoporosis.
Fortunately, progesterone can stop it and even reverse already existing bone loss.
- What about PMS?
-
Estrogen dominance is usually associated with PMS. In the earlier parts of the cycle and just before it begins,
progesterone levels are usually low while estrogen levels are beginning to increase. Applying progesterone
is one sure way of balancing out the estrogen dominance. Numerous benefits can occur by using a progesterone
cream during the month. It is usually recommended to use it each day, except the days of menses.
- Should I use progesterone?
-
It is highly recommended. Due to faulty diets, decreased nutrients in our foods and the stress that we
experience, most women have reduced levels of all hormones, but especially progesterone. We are exposed
to numerous xeno-estrogens (certain chemicals in the environment that have effects on the body similar
to estrogen). Keep in mind that health problems arise from not only the estrogen itself, but from imbalance
resulting from a deficiency in progesterone.
- If natural progesterone is so wonderful, why isn't it used by my doctor?
-
This is the question most frequently asked of Dr. Lee during his more than 30 years of active clinical
practice. To quote from Dr. Lee: "The medical-industrial complex refers to the close knit association of
organized medicine with the pharmaceutical manufacturers and governmental medical regulatory agencies...
The system taken together is neither necessarily corrupt nor evil, but, like any human agency, is subject
to the frailties and faults of humankind. Medical research is dependent on the billions of dollars of
grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the private pharmaceutical industry. The two are
closely interlocked.
Any given pharmaceutical company, like any private enterprise, must make a profit to stay alive. Profit
comes from the sales of patent medicines. The system is not interested in natural (non-patentable) medicines,
regardless of their potential health benefits. Thus the flow of research funding does not extend to products
which cannot be patented.
Few people know that the definition of malpractice hinges on whether or not the practice is common among
one's medical peers and has little (usually nothing) to do with whether the practice is beneficial or not.
A doctor willing to study, to learn the ins and outs of an alternative medical therapy, and to put what he
has learned into practice in helping patients is potentially exposing himself to serious charges of
malpractice.
But what does all this have to do with natural progesterone? The answer is quite simple, really. Ample
medical research regarding progesterone was carried on from the 1940's through the 1960's, and amply reported
in mainline, recognized medical literature. Since the early 1970's, however, medical research has become
much more expensive and the grants subsidizing progesterone research, (or any unpatentable medicine or
treatment technique), have dried up and been blown away by the contemporary trade winds of synthetic drugs,
particularly the progestins. The potential market for patentable progestins is vast - contraceptive pills,
irregular menses, osteoporosis - literally every woman through the age of puberty on is a target for a sale.
Do you think the prevailing powers wish to see this lucrative market left to an over-the-counter natural
product not in the hands of physician prescribers and not controlled by the pharmaceutical industry?
Thus, when he (the physician) hears of the use of natural progesterone, he wonders why none of his
associates know about it. If it is not commonly know, 'it must in some way be false and/or unapproved.'
Having given lectures on the role and medical uses of natural progesterone, I have observed numerous
instances wherein perfectly fine physicians will inquire about obtaining product for use by their wives
or mother-in-law but not for their patients.
What can account for such behavior by professionals? I suspect that it is fear of alienation from the
flock that is paramount in their minds.
If progestins were the equivalent of natural progesterone in effect and safety, the argument would be moot.
But progestins are not the equivalent of natural progesterone and never will be." - Dr. John R. Lee,
CA, USA
- Why is a premium quality progesterone cream superiot to capsules or suppositories?
-
Nature did not intend women to put hormones into their stomachs. Consequently, about 80% of orally
administered progesterone is intercepted by the liver and passed out of the body, unused. Progesterone
in suppository form is also intercepted by the liver and bound up by the wax vehicle. In either case,
because there is no sound basis for putting an extra burden on the liver, informed women have chosen to
use a transdermal cream which is almost 100% biologically available, as shown by salivary hormone assays.
Our Natural Progesterone Cream is different from other progesterone creams in that it has the unique
Liposomal Delivery System. This allows the progesterone to be absorbed through the skin and used by the
body. The liposomes allow large weight molecular structures to penetrate the skin. With other progesterone
creams, they do not have the delivery system, so the benefits may not be as great. Also, you must change
where you apply the cream from other companies because most others contain glycerin, a petroleum product,
which builds up on the skin and does not allow anything to get through. You do not need to change where you
apply Natural Progesterone Cream. We use NO petroleum products.
- Why progesterone? Isn't Mexican Wild Yam enough?
-
A component of yam (diosgenin) was, at one time, thought to be converted in the body to progesterone but
that has been proven to be unsubstantiated. In fact, while it has certain health benefits, there are no
published studies that would allow one to conclude that Mexican Wild Yam will increase progesterone levels
in humans or animals. Only supplemental natural progesterone has been demonstrated to increase serum
and saliva progesterone levels in women, a fact that is verified by ample clinical and published scientific
research.
- Are there any reported side effects associated with progesterone?
-
There are no reports of any significant side effects or health problems associated with natural progesterone.
However, the Physician's Desk Reference has a long list of side effects and contraindications for what is
commonly referred to as progesterone, but which are really synthetics.
- Should natural progesterone be used during pregnancy?
-
In his book, Premenstrual Syndrome & You, Neils H. Lauersen, MD, from the Mount Sinai Medical Center in
New York, states that natural progesterone may be helpful to maintain pregnancy. However, synthetic
progestagens should not be used because they may adversely affect the developing fetus.
No adverse effects on fetal development have been reported when natural progesterone was used during
pregnancy. Dr. Lauersen says studies on the offspring of women who used natural progesterone during their
pregnancies have given birth to especially well-adjusted children. Dr. Dalton summarized her 1968 research
of 90 children whose mothers received ante-natal progesterone compared with matched controls. She noted that
more children of mothers who had received ante-natal progesterone were still being breast-fed at six months;
more were standing and walking at one year; and at nine to 10 years of age, more had demonstrated superior
performance, compared to the control group, in academic subjects such as verbal reasoning, English, arithmetic
and craft work. Both groups were equally developed in physical education. None of the ante-natal progesterone
mothers experienced toxemia during the pregnancy; in the control group, more than half experienced toxemia.
The natural progesterone cream is not only safe for use during pregnancy, but is is also recommended. It
is suggested to be used from conception to delivery, applied primarily to the abdomen, breast, lower back
and upper thighs (where it will tend to prevent the skin from stretching). For the first 2 trimesters of
pregnancy (the first six months), use an average of one-half to three-quarters of a teaspoon, 2-3 times a
day. During the last trimester, apply one teaspoon 2-3 times a day. Discontinue at delivery and resume again
at one-quarter teaspoon twice per day beginning one month after delivery. The natural progesterone cream is
also useful for post-partum depression which many women experience after childbirth.
- What causes unnatural facial hair, especially above my upper lip?
-
This is a condition called 'hirsutism' (defined as excessive growth of facial and body hair). It indicates
that there is a hormonal imbalance between estrogen, testosterone (dominant male hormone), and progesterone.
As explained previously, progesterone acts as a regulator for the entire endocrine system. A woman who has
the hirsute problem probably has PMS too. Both menopausal and menstruating women have reported that abnormal
facial hair (and body hair) decreased or completely disappeared after three to six months of regular
application of the natural progesterone cream twice a day.
- I always get a yeast infection agter I take antibiotics or while I am on birth control pills. I have
heard that hormones aggravate yeast infections, is this true?
-
Because of the general use of antibiotics given for a variety of conditions without accompanying acidophilus,
Candida Albicans, the primary yeast fungus, has become a serious health problem for many women (and men).
Candida also aggravates premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Natural progesterone supports all hormone activity in
the body, so it acts to strengthen the body's defense (immune) system. However, the synthetic progestagens
tend to weaken the immune system and in general should be avoided. The progesterone cream, which contains
natural progesterone, can be safely used because it supports the immune system and thereby helps to correct
the yeast fungus problems.
- My hands and other joints are swollen and painful. I cannot make a fist or grasp anything firmly. Will the
natural progesterone cream help?
-
There are reports from people (men and women) who experienced this problem. They claimed that after applying
the natural progesterone cream several times a day for five consecutive days and less frequently thereafter,
there was a noticeable reduction in swelling and joint pain, and increased hand flexibility occurred.
- Can the natural progesterone cream be used on abrasions, muscle soreness, cuts and skin ulcers?
-
The natural progesterone cream is reported to alleviate aches and pains from cuts, bruises, lacerations
and skin irritations. It has been used to rapidly heal skin ulcers and in some cases has been reported to
benefit skin graft operations. People who have muscle fatigue have reported relief from rubbing the natural
progesterone cream on the affected area. Incidentally, there have been reports from pet owners that
application of the natural progesterone cream is also beneficial to animals with lacerations or skin
ulcers.
- How much progesterone is in your natural progesterone cream?
-
There is 400mg of progesterone per once - 1600mg of it in the whole tube. There are approximately 96
doses of 1/4 teaspoon each in a 4 oz tube, and each 1/4 teaspoon contains approximately 17 mg of progesterone.
- How long will your natural progesterone cream last?
-
If used as directed one tube of Natural Progesterone Cream should last approximately one month.
- My natural progesterone cream seems a little grainy, is there something wrong with it?
-
Because of the natural ingredients used in Natural Progesterone Cream, the texture may differ from
batch to batch.
- What is the difference between an "extract" and an "essential oil," (e.g. the Thyme Extract in Imperfection
Lotion from Thymus vulgaris and Thyme Serpolet Essential Oil, also known as Thymus vulgaris)?
-
Herbal extracts are often just ground-up parts of plants and are always water soluble. Essential oils are
a specific component of the plant, often extracted through distillation and are both soluble in oil, or
alcohol. The two examples listed are different varieties of the same plant (Thyme).
- Can I add a scent to the natural progesterone cream?
-
We have had much success mixing the our essential oils with
Natural Progesterone Cream. Mixing 15-20 drops per ounce of Natural Progesterone Cream
(Geranium, Lemon or Orange
work well and they are relatively inexpensive) will give you a luscious smelling cream that will be
a joy to use. Geranium is excellent to balance hormones.
- What is the difference between "waterproof" and "water-resistant" sunscreens?
-
For a sunscreen to call itself waterproof, it must retain 100% of its sun protection after 20 minutes of water
immersion. Water-resistant means the sunscreen's SPF value was determined after 40 minutes of water immersion,
but it is not a measure of what percentage of its original SPF value was retained after being in water.
- Why should everyone use a sunscreen?
-
The incidence of sun exposure-related skin cancers is growing at an alarming rate. For example, throughout the past
decade the most deadly of all skin cancers, melanoma, has skyrocketed from one in 1,500 to one in 75. According to
the American Cancer Society, 44,200 people will be diagnosed with malignant melanoma this year (2000), and 9,200 will
die from it - almost 2,000 more than last year. Reducing sun exposure time and the use of a good sunscreen might have
prevented many of these statistics.
The American Academy of Dermatology has recommended that consumers use sunscreens with a sun protection factor of
at least a 15 - and use it year-round. Lotions with strong sun protection factors for younger, developing children
have been indicated by pediatricians, since the protective qualities of their melanocytes and immunological cells are
still seeking maturity at birth. Thus, maturation time for these protective cells should be allowed to develop.
- What are some of the advantages of Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni® over other brands of Noni?
-
In recent taste tests, 97 out of every 100 people surveyed preferred Neways Authentic Hawaiian
Noni®. Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni® has more active polysaccharides.
- Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist
- What components of the Noni fruit provide these marvelous health benefits?
-
There are many beneficial phytonutrients that scientists have identified in Noni fruit. The nutrient with the best
documented health benefits is Noni polysaccharides. Noni polysaccharides support the body's immune system to provide
alert immuno-surveillance to support cell purification. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways' Corporate
Scientist
- How much Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni® can I take when I feel unhealthy?
-
The recommended supplement of Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni® when you are healthy is 1-2
ounces per day. When you feel unhealthy or experience long periods of poor health, you can take 2-4 oz per day right
along with VMM. You can take Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni® on an
empty stomach (preferred) or with meals. Higher doses (4-8 oz per day) can be taken when you are highly concerned
with supporting a long-term health need. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways' Corporate Scientist
- I have heard that the mixture of raspberry extract and blueberry extract makes Neways Authentic
Hawaiian Noni® unique and flavorful. What benefits do these berry extracts possess?
-
Only Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni® is formulated with both raspberry and blueberry extract.
They give the supplement a delicious fruity taste, covering up the nearly unpalatable taste of the Noni fruit. Ellagic
acid is a unique and powerful antioxidant found in high concentrations in raspberry extract. Additionally, blueberries
contain high levels of antioxidants. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways' Corporate Scientist
- Is Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni® a good choice when I am craving sweets?
-
When I have a desire for sweets in the evening, taking 1 oz of reduces this craving. It is also a delicious addition
to a healthy smoothie with banana, pineapple and ice. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways' Corporate
Scientist
-
Another answer: I found that craving sweets/chocolate is alleviated by Vitamin B supplementation. Consider taking
Orachel or ProZinger or Curb/
Curb for Mature Womenalong with the 1 oz of Neways Authentic Hawaiian
Noni®. - S.P.
- What improvements were made to Neways' new Noni formula?
-
The biggest improvement is in the taste. We here in R & D went through numerous iterations in developing this
formula, and are very pleased with the end product. It's a fallacy that Noni has to taste bad. The blend of fruits
in Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni® results in a natural, fruity taste with a hint of Noni's
unique flavor. It is smooth and has a pleasant texture due to the new micronized Noni puree. And the new
Neways' Noni has improved nutritional benefits too, particularly in terms of the antioxidant
level. Another important factor is PPT, which is a precipitate of polysaccharides.
Our Noni PPT is very, very high. Plus, for enhanced flavor we have added a fourth fruit, momordica, to the
combination of raspberry, blueberry and Noni. Noni, raspberry and blueberry have each been shown to be higher
in antioxidant potential than Vitamin C or pycogenol, which are generally accepted as the standards in antioxidants.
Finally, what's not in the new patent-pending formula of Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni® is
just as exciting as what's been added. Neways' new Noni is completely free of preservatives,
artificial colors and flavors, and contains no added sugar.
Scientists from Neways' Research & Development team, including Tom Mower, Sr., Tom Mower, Jr.,
Dr. Craig Stutz, Dr. Cole Woolley Jim Bawden (Pharmacist), and Dr. Marlin Harmon, (Vice President of Research &
Development)
- What is micronized Noni puree?
-
Neways is using a proprietary process called 'micronizing' to reduce the particle size of Noni
pulp to a uniformly microscopic size. There are several advantages to micronized puree. First, the very fine particle
size results in a smooth and desirable consistency that makes Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni®
more enjoyable to drink. By using a puree, Neways is able to harness the benefits of whole fruit without adding any
seeds or pulp. Additionally, these micronized Noni particles have a much greater surface area. Theoretically, this
greater surface area indicates that the beneficial polysaccharides in Neways' new Noni may be
more bioavailable and easier for the body to use.
Scientists from Neways' Research & Development team, including Tom Mower, Sr., Tom Mower, Jr.,
Dr. Craig Stutz, Dr. Cole Woolley Jim Bawden (Pharmacist), and Dr. Marlin Harmon, (Vice President of Research &
Development)
- What are polysaccharides and why are they important?
-
Technically, polysaccharides are a type of carbohydrate or sugar. But the polysaccharides in Noni are different,
rare kinds of sugars - nothing like common table sugar (sucrose). In fact, the polysaccharides in Noni are actually
a dietary fiber. Although not all polysaccharides are beneficial, these are important because they are the source
of Noni's immune-enhancing function.
Scientists from Neways' Research & Development team, including Tom Mower, Sr., Tom Mower, Jr.,
Dr. Craig Stutz, Dr. Cole Woolley Jim Bawden (Pharmacist), and Dr. Marlin Harmon, (Vice President of Research &
Development)
- Why is Hawaiian grown Noni superior to Noni grown in Tahiti or other areas?
-
There are two simple reasons that Neways prefers Noni from Hawaii. The first is the research.
Despite some claims to the contrary, most of the clinical research done with Noni has used Hawaiian Noni. That's
because virtually all of the original research came out of the University of Hawaii, and all the benefits attributed
to Noni are based on the Hawaiian grown fruit.
The second reason is the soil. Noni is one of the first types of vegetation to grow on lava flows, and it derives
benefits from the dense, mineral-rich earth. As plants mature, they leach minerals from the soil. So, the newest
lava has the most minerals, the least amount of pesticides and the least amount of harmful heavy metals. Lava flows
are the closest thing there is to virgin soil, and Hawaii's lava flows are among the newest on earth. On our latest
trip to Hawaii, we observed Noni growing in lava flows less than 15 years old, indicating very pure soil. These two
factors add up to the best tasting Noni on the planet.
Scientists from Neways' Research & Development team, including Tom Mower, Sr., Tom Mower, Jr.,
Dr. Craig Stutz, Dr. Cole Woolley Jim Bawden (Pharmacist), and Dr. Marlin Harmon, (Vice President of Research &
Development)
- What are some of the most notable health benefits of Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni®?
-
Neways Authentic Hawaiian Noni® provides an energy punch and supports your immune system.
People have witnessed other benefits, like improved mental acuity, help in coping with stress, maintenance of
healthy blood sugar levels and blood pressure, weight management, enhanced digestive function and healthy sleep
patterns. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways' Corporate Scientist
- Neways Produces Two Superior Noni Products: Super Noni (tea) and Authentic
Hawaiian Noni® (drink). What is the difference?
-
Neways' Authentic Hawaiian Noni Tea contains just that - the noni fruit extract, but does not
have the blueberry, raspberry or momordica fruits to boost the antioxidant or cell health-supporting qualities of the
noni. For the most effective concentrations and nutrient combinations, the Authentic Hawaiian
Noni® juice is the better product to take.
- At what age should I start supporting my prostrate health with supplements?
-
40 to 60. Ideally, between the ages of 25 to 35, you'll want to begin or maintain a program of eating right,
exercising regularly and supplementing with nutritionals that target the prostate. It is not too late to make
changes now, no matter what your age. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Neways' Corporate Scientist
- Besides taking Prostality, what lifestyle changes would you recommend to support prostrate
health?
-
I recommend avoiding pesticides, chemicals, heavy-metals and tobacco to promote normal prostate health. (Taking
D-Toxarate also supports detoxification at the cellular level for these and other
environmental pollutants already accumulating in the body.) Studies also indicate that high-alcohol consumption
may be contrary to prostate health. I also recommend regular exercise and a diet high in omega-3 rich fish (salmon,
tuna, mackerel) [Omega3 EPA], fresh fruits, multiple vegetables and nuts. - Dr. Cole
Woolley, Neways' Corporate Scientist
- If I forget to take my daily Prostality supplement, should I take twice as much the next
day?
-
It is not uncommon to forget to take a dietary supplement on a busy day. Maintaining compliance (consistency) in
taking Prostality is imperative to maintaining effective ingredient levels in the body.
However, don't make up for mistakes by taking double doses. Get in a good habit of daily supplementation.
- Dr. Cole Woolley, Neways' Corporate Scientist
- What Neways products complement Prostality?
-
Maximol, Orachel, Omega3 EPA, and
Revenol/Cascading Revenol support normal prostate health by providing
vitamins and minerals for normal function, antioxidants to guard against free-radical damage, and omega-3 essential
fatty acids for cellular support. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Neways' Corporate Scientist
- How long does a 15 ml/.5 oz. bottle of Essential Oil last in
the Jet Diffusor?
-
It depends on the thickness or thinness of the oil you are using. For example Orange Essential
Oil is thin. I usually turn the knob at the rear of the pump 1/4 turn and this is enough to cover 2,000 sq. feet
of living area. I usually keep my Jet Diffusor in a bedroom on for no longer than fifteen
minutes. In the general area of my home, I keep it on longer. There are no hard and fast rules for
Jet Diffusor use.
If you were to keep the Jet Diffusor on consistently at 1/4 turn, then
Orange Essential Oil would last about 12-16 hours. This is non-stop. The thicker oils will diffuse more slowly.
I hope this helps.
DO NOT USE Neways' Mixing Oil to dilute the
Essential Oils for Jet Diffusor use. This will clog the Diffusor. DO NOT USE water to
dilute the Essential Oils. Oils and water do not mix.
In general, think of your health conditions, and where you want to be. Then, use the
Essential Oil that may assist.
As I said, some Essential Oils are always best used in the
Jet Diffusor, and some Essential Oils are
best used either on the body or in the Jet Diffusor. The choice is totally yours, and
I suppose if money is not an object, then use everything freely, but I feel most people don't fall into this
category. - Toni van Gils, Neways' Aromatherapy Research & Development
- I am looking at the Leslie DeeAnn Foundation
and need help deciding what color to order. I am Oriental, not too dark, but average. I noticed the part
which said, "70% of all women can use Dark Bronze...the next most effective is
Honey." Do you have any suggestions?
-
We asked several oriental ladies that use our Leslie
DeeAnn Foundations. What we heard back from them is that the Almond foundation works
best for them, you might want to try that color and see how it works for you. If it doesn't work, I would
try the Dark Bronze mixed with the Almond. - Laura Boben,
Leslie DeeAnn Line Manager
- Which is darker, the Almond or the Honey foundation?
-
Believe it or not Honey is a little darker than Almond,
it has more of a orange tint to it. For oriental skin tone, I think that you should go with the
Almond. - Laura Boben, Leslie DeeAnn Line Manager
- What is the difference between the Mixing Oil and Tangible Massage
Lotion?
-
If you want a more direct application that is absorbed into the skin faster, use the Tangible
Massage Lotion .
If you want the essential oil to remain on the skin's surface longer, use Neways' Mixing Oil.
The Tangible Massage Lotion is designed to allow the
Essential Oils a safe, but quick passage into the body.
Tangible Massage Lotion is non-greasy and scent free. Use it as an all-purpose lotion, mixing
in different essential oils for fragrance.
Neways' Mixing Oil should be used when it is desired that the
Essential Oil linger on the skin. This would be the case when
wearing it for a fragrance. Essential Oils used without any type
of a carrier are rarely detectable (by smell) even 20 minutes after dermal application. If a slower absorption rate is
desired (as with an infant or elderly person as a safety factor) use Neways' Mixing Oil.
The Essential Oil will go into the body at a slower rate of
absorption.
- What about Silence® and Sleep Apnea?
-
Silence® is marketed for snoring. Sleep apnea, though it has a component of snoring,
is a serious medical condition where breathing actually stops. Many people with sleep apnea may have experienced
marked improvement with Silence®. Sleep Apnea often requires CPAP (a mechanical breathing
machine) and oxygen therapy. DO NOT stop using these medical therapies without a doctor's permission.
Prescription therapy, such as CPAP, should be monitored by a licensed medical doctor. Simply let the responsible
doctor know you want to use Silence® in addition to prescription therapy, to see how it
works. There are people who have been successfully taken off of CPAP while on Silence® with
their doctor's recommendation. - James Bawden, Neways R&D
- Are there any harmful side effects from using Silence®?
-
There are no known harmful side effects, however there are some beneficial side effects.
Most people report fresher breath, and many people say that it assists in reducing "morning
breath."
- Can you please explain the different fragrance terminologies?
-
Many of Neways' products contain fragrances. All fragrances in
Neways' products are natural (otherwise known as "natural" and "synthetic
natural"). There are no "synthetic unnatural" fragrances in Neways' products.
Neways stresses "fragrance free." This has two meanings: First, many products do not have
"fragrances" added (albeit, they exhibit the natural odors of the ingredients). Second, our products contain no
"synthetic" fragrants that are not found in nature.
Neways uses many "natural" product extracts that also scent the
personal-care products. Several
personal-care products contain "synthetic natural" fragrances
to enhance the scent. These "natural" and "synthetic natural" fragrances pose no harm to the skin or to the body if
they are absorbed through the skin. Some Neways' products, which contain
"fragrance" in their ingredient list, were formulated to disguise a malodor coming from a beneficial natural extract.
In addition, some beneficial natural extracts may also contain a pleasant-smelling fragrance.
There are some misconceptions about fragrance terminology. The following definitions and comparisons should help
to clarify some important aspects of fragrance chemistry and technology:
Synthetic vs. Natural: In the personal-care industry, the term "natural" can be used for any
ingredient that can be found in nature. That means a fragrant ingredient can be classified as "natural" when it is
extracted from natural sources (plants, soil, animals) or when the identical ingredient is chemically synthesized
in the lab. Most synthesized chemical ingredients are produced from smaller chemical components that are derived
from petroleum oil. However, this synthesized fragrance is also referred to as a "synthetic natural" product.
Imitation vs. Natural: An "imitation" fragrance is usually a "synthetic" product created to have
an odor similar to a "natural" one. Synthetic imitation fragrances are NOT found in nature; the chemical industry
has created them. An inexpensive synthetic chemical can have a very similar odor to an expensive natural fragrance.
A synthetic imitation fragrance may have an odor that is many times the odor of a costly natural fragrance. Such
an odorous imitation fragrance has great potential as a "cheap" ingredient in synthetic perfumes and to scent personal
products. The skin may be sensitized when personal-care products containing "synthetic imitation" fragrances are
applied. This sensitization is caused from the newness of this "synthetic imitation" fragrance to the environment
of the skin.
Fragrance-free Misnomer: First of all, nearly all chemical compounds have an odor. Creating a
"fragrance-free" product is nearly impossible - there is generally some detectable odor. Neways has
developed many "fragrance-free" products for those who want to minimize their exposure to "synthetic imitation"
fragrances and for those who desire to scent their own products with natural Essential Oils. Some
Neways' products that contain "fragrance" in their ingredient list were
formulated to disguise a malodor coming from a beneficial natural extract. In addition, some beneficial natural
extracts may also contain a pleasant-smelling fragrance. - Dr. Cole Woolley, Chemist, Neways' Corporate
Scientist
- Are there any essential oils that would aid in hernia-type-skin repair (e.g. oils that would assist in rebuilding
stronger tissues)?
-
Strong oils with skin cells repair ability - Lavender Essential Oil.
- Luba Vozarova, Neways Aromatherapy Product Line Manager
- Is Optimal Plus for Plants organic? Would those wanting organically grown food use this
product?
-
These are all organically derived ingredients - and they are organic chemicals. However, this may
also be considered a chemical fertilizer. It is not a pesticide or herbicide, so depending on how
strict the grower wanted to be it may or may not be appropriate.
- What is the formula for the Roil products?

Roil treatments chemically bond with the metal being treated; therefore,
they are not washed off by water-based fluids or emulsified oils.
- Could Roil be used to reduce friction on down-hole tools lubricated with
water-based muds?
-
We would not recommend Roil for this application. However, the metal tools
could be soaked in Roil Gold to enhance their hardness and reduce friction.
- Can wheel bearings be soaked in Roil before being packed in grease?
-
This is an excellent idea - soak the bearings in Roil Gold first.
- Does Roil work equally well on white metal, copper, and lead, as well as,
on standard roller and ball bearings?
-
The treatment is specifically designed for steel and iron, and works less effectively on copper or lead.
