How to use
After showering, apply 6 to 8 drops to the scalp (not to the hair). Do not rinse out. This product is the "work horse" of the 2nd Chance system and needs to be on the scalp all the time. Massage vigorously for 2 to 4 minutes. This will stimulate the scalp.
A commitment must be made when using the 2nd Chance System. Cleansing and flushing the sebum plugs may take some time - more or less depending on one's age. And, for a time (as is the case when filth is cleansed from the skin) an odor may come from the sebum plugs coming out of the scalp. To start to cleanse the skin and not finish the job is less than potentially profitable. The sebum plugs must be cleansed away so that the hair follicle can have the opportunity to resume normal growth. Make a commitment and expect to see results in 3-6 months.

Detailed product description
Male pattern baldness is a condition caused when too much Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) causes an over production of sebum. The sebum then becomes solid in the hair shafts making it impossible for the hair to push through to the surface.
Normally the Sebaceous Glands produce a lubricant called sebum, which softens the skin and oils the hair shaft, keeping it healthy. In Picture 1 you can see how a healthy hair follicle functions.
The papilla (matrix of cells where the hair is produced and where the pigment for the coloration of the hair is also stored) receives its nutrition from tiny blood vessels that may also carry away waste.
In the body, a compound called Dihydrotestosterone (DHT, which is made up of water, cholesterol, testosterone and an enzyme) has an adverse effect on the growth receptors in the hair follicle. It causes the tiny blood vessels in the papilla to shrink restricting food and oxygen to the matrix that produces the hair protein. DHT also blocks certain receptors in the Sebaceous Gland, which then produces a thick heavy sebum that later hardens in the follicle to form a plug. The hair can no longer push through the sebum and the external hair - not receiving nutrients any longer - breaks off and the scalp appears bald. In Picture 2 you can see how an unhealty hair follicle looks and functions.
The 2nd Chance System is designed to deeply clean the scalp, cleanse away the sebum plugs, and revitalize the hair follicle.
Hair and scalp may be revitalized with this unique scalp conditioner. 2nd Chance Conditioner may cleanse, emulsify, and flush the sebum plugs away from the hair follicle. Once the plugs are gone, the hair may resume normal growth patterns.

A 3-Step Cleansing Program for the Promotion of Fuller Hair
2nd Chance Shampoo has been carefully formulated and balanced to help remove excessive oil, grease, and dirt from the upper epidermis while cleaning and pre-conditioning the scalp. It is a highly effective hair treatment shampoo that may help return thinning hair to a more normal state. 2nd Chance Shampoo has ingredients that help soften the sebum plug for later emulsifying and flushing.
Usage
Shampoo daily. Shake 2nd Chance Shampoo bottle gently. Spread small amount (about the size of a nickel) onto hands and apply to wet hair massaging well into the scalp. Leave shampoo in while cleansing body; rinse and repeat shampooing, and rinse thoroughly.
Men: Follow with 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner and Super Booster.
Women: Skip step 2 and follow with Super Booster only. (2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner is only for men!)
NOTE: 2nd Chance Shampoo is not recommended for chemically treated hair. Use Silken Shampoo.
Step 2: 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner
2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner begins where the 2nd Chance Shampoo leaves off. The ingredients in 2nd Chance Conditioner continue to assist in softening sebum plugs, emulsifying and flushing them from the hair follicle. This process provides an environment for normal hair growth to occur. This conditioner is designed to deeply clean the scalp while revitalizing the hair shaft with essential ingredients to make the scalp healthier and the hair looking thicker and fuller. Hydrolyzed mucopolysaccharides, calcium pantothenate, niacin, and retinyl palmitate add luster to the hair. 2nd Chance Conditioner nourishes the skin and scalp (not the hair).
Usage
For men only: After 2nd Chance Shampoo, towel dry hair. Shake 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner bottle thoroughly. Apply 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner to thinning scalp area - not hair - massage in (do not rub) for 2-4 minutes. Full heads of hair may need to be parted a number of times and drops applied to the parted areas. Use daily. Do not rinse out. Leave on for 24 hours.
Step 3: Super Booster
Men and Women: After 2nd Chance Shampoo and 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner, Super Booster is designed to assist in the promotion of healthier hair and scalp by accelerating the rate of return to healthier-looking hair and natural-appearing scalp conditions. Botanical extracts ginseng and ginkgo biloba and specially extracted vitamins, nutrients, and retinyl palmitate are used in Super Booster to help bio-reinforce the hair follicle and scalp.
Usage
After 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner, apply Super Booster to thinning area on scalp - not hair-massage in (do not rub) for 2- 4 minutes. Full heads of hair may need to be parted a number of times and drops applied to the parted areas. If hair is blown dry, apply Super Booster before and after drying hair. Use daily. Do not rinse out. Leave on for 24 hours.
Note: For dry or chemically dry hair, apply a small amount of Exuberance Conditioner and Replenishing Mist to the hair (not scalp) and leave in.
Note: For faster and maximum results, add heat using a Heat Cap or Hot Towel treatment. Follow the instructions below...
Hot Towel Or Heating Cap Treatment
- After shampooing with the 2nd Chance Shampoo, apply a generous amount of 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner to the scalp.
- Place wet, wrung out towel into the microwave. Or use a heating cap. Be careful not to overheat.
- Cover hair with a shower cap. Place heating cap or hot towel over the entire hair and scalp. The shower cap will hold the heat in longer and remove product from the scalp.
- When the towel/heating cap cools, repeat the process, applying additional conditioner while the pores are open. A steamer can be used for 20-30 minutes.
- Massage or an electric massager can also be used.
- Wipe excess 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner off and apply generous amount of Super Booster to the scalp.
- Repeat hot towel or cap. Massage. You may combine steps 6 & 7 together.
- For home treatment, wipe off excess and leave the 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner and Super Booster on the scalp overnight and shampoo out the next morning.
- Hot towel/heating cap or electric massager used as a treatment on the scalp two to four times a week with the 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner and Super Booster will give improved and faster results.
What to Expect
On occasion you may experience a slight hair "fall-out" or itchy scalp. Do not be alarmed, as this is the first indication that the products are working. The sebum plug is disintegrating and the hair caught in it is falling away. The next indication may be small pimples appearing around your existing hairline, indicating that once dormant hair follicles are pushing out the sebum plugs. As the very acidic sebum plugs begin to emerge and break up, the skin may become irritated. The best thing to do is to rinse better when cleansing the scalp with the 2nd Chance Shampoo, and apply Eliminator (with a cotton pad) letting it dry completely before continuing with the 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner. However, don't be disappointed if you do not see this. This process of cleansing the sebum plug and for the hair to be looking fuller and healthier takes around 3 months.
Maintenance Program
Once the desired effect is obtained, it is important to continue the 2nd Chance Maintenance program: Every other day apply 2nd Chance Scalp Conditioner to the scalp; follow with Super Booster and massage for a minimum of 3 minutes. Do not rinse out. Leave on for 24 hours.
