An essential oil sampler, Neways' Basic Ten Essential Oil Pack contains only essential oils that are raw, pure, unaltered, genuine and therapeutic. Neways guarantees all of our essential oils are raw, pure, unaltered, genuine and therapeutic. We do not alter our essential oils with synthetic fragrances, chemical additives, or vegetable oils. Our single essential oils are all single species, and our blends are combinations of single species. To our knowledge, Neways is the only large company in America that can truthfully make this claim. Quality DOES make a difference!

How to use

NOTE: The Neways' Jet Diffusor is NOT designed to use the smaller, 5 ml/.175 oz. essential oil bottle (which includes bottles in the Neways' Basic Ten Essential Oils Pack). To diffuse those oils, put them in the empty 15 ml/.5 oz. bottle that comes with the Jet Diffusor.

General Instructions

Patch Test First!

Before using any essential oil "neat" (undiluted), do a patch test first. Put a few drops on the back of your wrist or the inside of the elbow and cover with a bandaid. Leave for an hour or more. If irritation or redness occurs, bathe the area with a carrier OIL (e.g. olive oil, safflower oil, Neways' Mixing Oil - NOT water! Water will drive the essential oil deeper into the skin); wipe off and bathe the area again; wipe off and bathe the area again. Do NOT re-cover with a bandaid, but allow air exposure to the tested area for quicker healing. For future use, either reduce the concentration of the essential oil tested by half or more, or avoid it altogether.

You can do the same Patch Test with essential oils that you have diluted (mixed in solution, e.g. with Neways' Mixing Oil or Tangible® Massage Lotion).

Direct "Neat" (Undiluted) Application: "Neat" (undiluted) Lavender Essential Oil and Tea Tree Essential Oil may be applied directly to skin, but Neways recommends diluting all other essential oils. This is especially important for first-time users, children and those with sensitive skin.

A General Note About Using Essential Oils: Western merchandising has stereotypically perpetuated a "more is better" conditioning upon society. Not so with essential oils. Small amounts are able to be effective. Western culture has also perpetuated the "prescription formula" approach - for example, take 3, 3 times a day. Not so with essential oils. Because essential oils are liquid, lipophilic, volatile, aromatic and comprised of very small molecules giving them greater mobility into and within the body, there may be more than one way to effectively use a particular oil.

Starting out, the most important thing is to make sure the essential oils you use on the body are 100% pure, genuine and unadulterated - Neways' are, guaranteed! (Then you know that you are working with the essential oil itself and not with the chemicals and chemical reactions with which it has been adulterated.)

Storage

Keep out of reach of children!

Caution

Never put essential oils in the eyes or the ears. If you accidentally do, use Neways' Mixing Oil to dilute. Never rinse the area with water as water forces the oil deeper into the tissues.

Do not use essential oils internally.

Citrus Essential Oils are phototoxic: do not apply to skin exposed to direct sunlight.

Cedarwood, Geranium, Lavender, Peppermint and Rosemary are emmenagogues (may induce menstrual flow) and, therefore, should not be used during the first trimester. Agility contains some of the emmenagogue essential oils and therefore should be avoided during the first trimester, as well.

Detailed product description

QUALITY

All Neways' single Essential Oils are derived from single species.

Each Neways' Essential Oil is inspected by a third-party source to ensure that it meets the strictest guideline for purity, authenticity and therapeutic value.

Before crops are distilled into Neways' Essential Oils, each crop is carefully examined for traces of chemicals or pesticides. Only after the crop is determined to be completely free of these adulterations are the crops then distilled into Neways Essential Oils.

Included in Neways' Basic Ten Essential Oil Pack are the "AromaSense" audio cassette and 5 ml bottles of one essential oil blend and nine essential oils:

  • Agility Essential Oil Blend: Agility is a precisely formulated blend of Ginger Root, Wild Rosemary, Lavender, Cajeput, Juniper Berry, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and Marjoram Essential Oils which may assist the body in soothing tired, aching muscles and soreness caused by physical activity. Dr. Cole Woolley in "Biochemistry For Healthy Joints," stated that, "Mixing Agility with Tangible Massage Lotion and applying the mixture to stiff, sore joints and muscles provides soothing relief and eases movement."
  • Cedarwood Essential Oil: Grown and distilled in the beautiful Atlas Mountains, Cedrus atlantica is one of the rare Cedarwood species from Morocco. Easily identified by the 'lead pencil' type odor, Cedarwood is a versatile Essential Oil that acts as an astringent and a cleansing agent. Believed to have originated from the famous Lebanon cedars, this yellow, orange or deep amber color Essential Oil provides an exhilarating tonic for the scalp and face to help the body deal with dandruff and acne. Cedarwood can also be massaged into the skin for soothing, relaxing muscle rubs.
  • Cypress Essential Oil: Cypress, whose Latin name (Cupressus sempervirens) means "ever living," has a pleasant, woody odor. This pale yellow or greenish-olive color Essential Oil acts as an astringent while easing muscle spasms. It is often used as a facial tonic for oily skin and as a deodorant. Cypress is lovely when used as a scent in bath and in skin care products.
  • Eucalyptus Essential Oil: Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) is one of the most cleansing Essential Oils. Grown primarily in Australia, Spain, China and Portugal, Eucalyptus can be diffused in sick rooms to help support the respiratory system. Cool, slightly bitter and pungent, this colorless Essential Oil has a camphor-like quality that may assist your body's efforts to help maintain general respiratory health. Eucalyptus blends well with oils of Lavender. Its aromatic influence may help to promote feelings of health and well-being.
  • Geranium Essential Oil: Geranium Essential Oil assists a woman's adrenocortical glands, thus helping to reduce the affects of PMS, acne and menopausal problems. Geranium (Pelargonium odorantissimum), a colorless Essential Oil, is rose-like in scent and is often used as a fragrance. Native to South Africa and widely cultivated in Russia, China and Egypt, geraniums and the oil derived from them have become increasingly popular. The sweet aroma may help one achieve an overall feeling of peace and health. Geranium Essential Oil blends well with Lavender and other floral oils and is delightful when blended with citrus oils (e.g. Lemon, Orange). Geranium may also aid in repelling pesky insects! Geranium's aromatic influence encourages a relaxed feeling of emotional security.
  • Lavender Essential Oil: Oil of Lavender (Lavandula vera), a colorless or pale yellow oil, is distilled from the flowering tops of the Lavender plant and is generally imported from France. Having a clean, fresh scent, Lavender Essential Oil is adaptogenic: can encourage feelings of exhilaration or relaxation. Traditionally known to help soothe emotional extremes, a drop or two on the pillow at night may provoke a restful night's sleep. Lavender Essential Oil is gentle to the skin, and when applied, may bring the aromatic influence of romance and peace.
  • Orange Essential Oil: Cold pressed from the peel of the orange, Essential Oil of Orange (Citrus sinensis) is a favorite for enhancing the mood and soothing the emotions. Applying or inhaling the aromatic fragrance of Orange Essential Oil may encourage feelings of joy and generosity... and a merry heart does good, like a medicine. This once rare, yellowish-orange or dark-orange color Essential Oil is now extracted in the United States and in Central and South America.
  • Peppermint Essential Oil: Cultivated in China, Japan and Egypt, Peppermint Essential Oil (Mentha piperita) is distilled from the leaves and flowering tops of the Peppermint plant. This sweet smelling, pale yellow or greenish color Essential Oil is known for its adaptogenic properties - being able to balance the body and delight the senses.
  • Tea Tree Essential Oil: Tea Tree, a pale yellow-green or colorless Essential Oil, emits a fresh aroma that helps sustain the body's ability to address bacterial, fungal, and viral infections. Distilled with steam or water, Tea Tree's healthful properties are derived from the leaves and twigs of the plant. Warm and spicy, this camphor-like oil supports and strengthens many systems of the body. Native to Australia, wild Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) has been used and valued for centuries by the Aborigines.
  • Wild Rosemary Essential Oil: Wild Rosemary Essential Oil is a colorless oil, distilled from wild rosemary plants growing in Tunisia. Wild Rosemary's woody, yet minty, scent is believed to soothe aching muscles and enhance memory. Distilled precisely to improve its healthful properties, Wild Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) soothes feelings of nervous exhaustion, and, when combined with Peppermint and Lavender Essential Oils, helps to give feelings of relief for headache pain and migraines.
