Detailed product description
Rebound's formulation assists the body's ability to recover from the after-effects of UV exposure by utilizing a milk flora enzyme extract known as Micrococcus Lysate. Containing the UV-resistant organism Endonuclease, Micrococcus Lysate is well known to the scientific community for its ability to help the body recover from UV-activated skin damage.
A sunburn is a warning sign that the skin has been damaged. Rebound contains Vitamin B6 (Pyroxidine Dicaprylate) to dramatically help reduce the redness of skin that has been overexposed to the sun. Botanical extracts - Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate (Licorice Extract), Aloe Vera and Rose Hips Oil - may help to ease discomfort due to UV exposure. Saccharide Isomerate may help support water adhesion, and moisture restoration to dry skin. Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate is a moisturizing Licorice Extract that eases the discomfort of inflammation and helps balance dehydrated skin with moisture.
For faster delivery to sun-soaked skin cells, Rebound's moisturizing and conditioning ingredients are encapsulated in liposomes. As it soothes the sun damaged skin, Rebound also helps balance epidermal moisture levels where the sun's heat has dehydrated the skin.
Neways has developed skin care products that truly work with the delicate processes of cleansing, supplementing and balancing. The goal is to enjoy beautiful, radiant, healthy skin.
When used soon after exposure to ultraviolet rays, Rebound helps to enhance the skin's UV-recovery potential for the restoration of soft, supple skin.
Prevention, however, is always better than cure. There are things that can be done towards planning an enjoyable time outdoors without injury to the body - Neways recommends sunscreens and sun safe tips.
SPF (Sun Protection Factor) and Sunscreens
When sun protection is mentioned, SPF is usually in the conversation. What is SPF? Why is it important? And how much of it is needed to protect the skin from the sun?
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. It is defined as the amount of sun exposure needed to cause slight erythema (redness) of the skin which has been protected with an application of 2mg/cm2 of sunscreen, divided by the amount of energy required to produce the same erythema on unprotected skin. It's complicated; but basically, what needs to be known is that the higher the SPF number, the more sunscreen protection.
Sun Safe Tips
Healthy skin is within reach, but to maintain skin health, the body must be taken care of both inside and out.
The sun's harmful rays that pierce through the deteriorating ozone layer can be filtered out by using sunscreens with sun protection factors of greater than 10, wearing protective clothing and staying out of the sun during extreme temperatures.
The skin can be nourished with protective antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C and E that are found naturally in foods or can be ingested via supplements such as Orachel and ProZinger.
During heat-filled days, moderation is key. It is not necessary to shy away from the outdoors. With proper skin protection, it is possible to take a step outside and enjoy all that nature has to offer.
In order to achieve maximum sun protection, it is important to take a few precautionary steps:
- Stay in the shade whenever possible.
- Avoid reflective surfaces, which can reflect up to 85 percent more of the sun's damaging rays.
- Eat a natural whole foods diet high in vegetables and fruits and pay close attention to your intake of essential fatty acids. The types of fats we eat may determine how the body reacts to sunshine. A diet emphasizing oils rich in essential fatty acids, such as evening primrose and flax seed oils, protects skin against sun damage.
- Restrict direct sunlight exposure to the early morning and late afternoon hours. Avoid spending time in the sun between 10 am and 3 pm.
- Wear light-colored clothing made from natural fibers. They will reflect sunlight and help you stay cool.
- A wide-brimmed hat to protect the eyes and face from direct sunlight is preferable to sunglasses. Optimal functioning of the endocrine system depends on the absorption of sunlight (including ultraviolet) through the eyes. Sunglasses disrupt this important physiological process and should only be worn when absolutely necessary, such as when driving a car or boat or snow skiing.
- Build up a moderate suntan gradually by spending time outdoors in the early morning and late afternoon regularly.
- A moderate, natural suntan offers effective skin protection and ensures optimal vitamin D levels.
